2023 Meditation Training:
February 5 - February 11, 2023
Deepen your meditation practice and take time for yourself in this week-long training for teachers and practitioners. Cultivate the skill, knowledge, and confidence to integrate meditation practices into your own life and to help others do the same.
Upon graduation you are fully authorized to teach meditation in the U.S., and in the rest of the world. We are a U.S. Yoga Alliance School. The U.S. Yoga Alliance is recognized internationally.
In this experiential training, you will explore key contemplative practices from early yoga and mindfulness traditions. Meditation techniques include relaxation, awareness of the body and the breath, mantra, slow motion prana, yoga nidra, developing witness consciousness, and cultivating compassion. We also explore contemplative practices such as nature immersions. You will learn how to integrate meditation and mindfulness approaches in modern-day contexts, from leading private and group meditation classes, to being with yourself and your own life experience with equanimity and ease.
Because of the unique perspective of each participant, our curriculum continues to evolve in service to our current global community. Our school, and the world, is enriched by the dedicated yoga explorers who we have the honor of hosting here at Nexus Institute.
Your Week at Nexus Institute
Our curriculum uses a scaffolding approach to support your easeful transition into a lifelong meditator and meditation facilitator. During our first days together you will learn the pillars of the Nexus Meditation Program. You will learn foundational tools for self-regulation including breathing, walking, and movement. You will actually teach your first day here beginning with a single technique and progressing to a mini practice teach. We gradually layer in research based techniques for self-regulation, framing meditation in the context of the yoga sutras. You will learn grounding and centering techniques for your own life and how to guide centering experiences for others. We end our week by bringing everything together, preparing you to take your personal expression of meditation out into the world. Friday is the final practice teach where you facilitate a meditation experience. We end with an evening graduation celebration together. You will graduate accredited to teach meditation for centering and self-regulation. We are a U.S. Yoga Alliance School. The U.S. Yoga Alliance is recognized internationally.
